E este mundo tem espaço para todos, e a boa Terra é rica e pode prover para todos.
And this world has room for everyone, and the good Earth is rich and can provide for everyone.
O modo de vida pode ser livre e belo, mas perdemos o caminho.
The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way.
A ganância envenenou as almas dos homens, cercou o mundo de ódio, levou-nos à miséria e ao derramamento de sangue.
Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed.
Desenvolvemos velocidade, mas fechamo-nos em nós mesmos.
We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in.
As máquinas que nos dão abundância nos deixaram na miséria.
Machinery that gives us abundance has left us in want.
Nosso conhecimento nos tornou cínicos.
Our knowledge has made us cynical.
Nossa inteligência, dura e cruel.
Our cleverness, hard and unkind.
Pensamos demais e sentimos muito pouco.
We think too much, and feel too little.
Mais do que máquinas, precisamos de humanidade.
More than machinery, we need humanity.
Mais do que inteligência, precisamos de gentileza e bondade.
More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness.
Sem essas qualidades, a vida será violenta e tudo estará perdido.
Without these qualities, life will be violent, and all will be lost.
O avião e o rádio nos aproximaram.
The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together.
A própria natureza dessas invenções clama pela bondade dos homens, clama pela fraternidade universal, pela unidade de todos nós.
The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men, cries out for universal brotherhood, for the unity of us all.

Vocês, o povo, têm o poder, o poder de criar máquinas.

The power to create happiness!

You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.
